Gearing up for Memorial Day with Grocery Shopper Insights

What is your Memorial Day shopping food – will it be burgers, hot dogs, BBQ, or seafood?

That depends on who you are, where you live, or how you like to celebrate those EXTRA days of responsible irresponsibility!

Memorial Day signals the “official beach opening day.” Or, since we live in Florida, it’s the day the lifeguards are on duty full-time and the artsy beach shops, restaurants, and ice cream meccas open EARLIER.

Grocery stores will be shopper chaos over BOGOs on hot dogs, buns, deli meat, and condiments.  Yes, I have more than one variety of mustard, mayo, ketchup, and hot sauce in the pantry/fridge at all times

𝗦𝗼, 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱?

Shoppers will spend upwards of $7.7 billion this holiday preparing for family gatherings, and consumers will eat 818 million pounds of our favorite BBQ meats.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲?

As analysts, we track these “season” to help our clients understand if their promotions are effective, if they have the right assortment with the “trendy flavors, colors, or ingredients,” and if their shelf placement maximizes sales and minimizes out-of-stocks.

Yes, Memorial Day week fast approaches, then July 4th, then Labor Day, and then summer and the season is over.
