Yesterday, while I was out checking stores for a project, I had a craving for cookies at a local convenience store. When you think of convenience, you think small, right? Single servings, grab-and-go stuff. 🛒🍪
But here’s the thing that surprised me: so many options! All lined up on pegs, shelves, you name it—some wrapped individually, some in big grab bags. It was kind of chaotic, though. Not like the organized grocery or big stores.
Convenience store quick research:
🛒 Over 83% of Americans shop at convenience stores for snacks or quick meals.
🛒 On average, a shopper spends about 3 to 4 minutes in a convenience store.
my take:
This trip is like going on a “Treasure Hunt.” Club stores can claim a similar shopper behavior but on a bigger scale. In the “C-Store” hunting for product can be a challenge and maybe missing out on cool stuff you didn’t even know existed.
Seems there’s got to be a better way for folks to uncover what they want or stumble upon something new without the search mission.
SO, talk to me?
Have you ever felt a tad lost in these stores? Or maybe tried something new because, hey, the price was just, right?
Bet there are tons of stories out there. Comment or Connect with me on LinkedIn for more insights on Category Management.
Kudos to all you C-Store champs! 🙌
